Dot & Dab Dry Lining

Alternatively known as dot & dab, dry lining is a very popular method to achieve a good finish on walls and is a relatively dry process. It allows me to quickly attach the plasterboard to a variety of different services, including timber, masonry and even metal, although the time for the application to fix does vary according to the material it’s fixed to.

Skimming & Floating

Plaster skimming onto hard alls or plasterboard is the most well known method of providing a hard, smooth surface on which to decorate.

Giving many of the advantages of traditional solid plaster walls, when combined with stud wall construction this also opens up many different options for insulation and soundproofing.

Before wall skimming commences, I ensure that any loose plasterwork is removed and that joints are reinforced where required.
